Following a recommendation of the “Strategic Planning and Operations Task Group” (SPOTG), which conducted the regular systematic review of ISO 9001:2015, the ISO/TC 176/SC 2 voted for the confirmation of ISO 9001:2015 without changes. The results of the ballot were published on May 3, 2021 and the confirmation is available at https://committee.iso.org/sites/tc176sc2/home/about.html.
In consequence, there will be no revision of our main certification standard for the next years and our clients can concentrate on the improvement of their certified systems based on the current version of ISO 9001.
The ISO/TC 176/SC 2 decided also that a project should be initiated at a preliminary stage, to examine if a revision of ISO 9001 should be started earlier than would usually be determined through the systematic review process. Nevertheless, as a revision process normally takes a couple of years, we do not believe to get a revised standard before 2025.
