The new BS OHSAS18001:2007 standard has been approved and is now available. Three significant changes from the previous version are the fact that objectives and programme had been grouped together; communication, participation and consultation has been seperated into two sub-clauses and requires two procedures and the same has been done with incident investigation and non-conformity (also two seperate procedures). This means that the basic procedures that were normally required by the previous standard has increased.
