This goal of this standard is to promote the development of Quality Management System that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing on defect prevention (pro-active measures) and the continual reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain by incorporationg the basic ISO 9001:2000 requirements, the additional requirements of the automotive industry and also related Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs). Only organization supplying to the automotive supply chain are eligible to be certified to this standard.
